Meet Dr. Angela Parquette
DVMI was born and raised in New Jersey where my parents rescued and repurposed retired thoroughbred racehorses. Caring for these horses from a very young age started my love and commitment to animals and their health and wellbeing.
I attended Roanoke College in Salem, VA introducing me to the beautiful state of Virginia. During this time I became deeply involved in work with the local companion animal shelter and the regional wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility as well as summertime work at the Philadelphia zoo. I also worked for a companion animal veterinarian who specialized in exercise rehabilitation, exotic animal medicine, and alternative and holistic medicine.
I attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where I developed a particular interest in animal behavior and reset my focus from horses to small animals. After graduating in 2011 and practicing for a few years in Indiana, I returned to Virginia in 2013 and have been working in small animal general practice with a focus on preventative care ever since.
I live with my husband, who is also a veterinarian in an area emergency and critical care practice. Our lives are enriched by our three children, our cat Sally and our golden retriever Brian. In our free time as a family we enjoy traveling, hiking and gardening. I am happy to join the team at Willow and to continue advocating for the health and wellbeing of our community pets.
